SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme). The SMSTS is the qualification by the CITB that defines a standard for health and safety management on construction sites. This five-day course is aimed at those looking to take a managerial role within the construction industry. The SMSTS course covers the Health & Safety at Work Act and the regulations, and legislation relevant to the construction industry. It includes Site set-up, CDM, Risk Assessment, Method Statements, Scaffolding, Electricity, Excavations, Demolition, and Confined Spaces. It covers applicable regulations influencing safe working in construction, building and civil engineering industries. It focuses on requirements for risk evaluation in the working environment, the execution of the important control measures and sufficient correspondence to support a wellbeing and security culture inside the labour force.
Ensuring General Safety
The crucial of site organisation, electrical safety, fire prevention, driver safety and control over dangerous substances. This course ensures the learning of mobile work equipment, hand-held tools and lifting operations.
Law and Regulations
The course includes relevant knowledge about the health and safety law, the health and safety at work act and construction design and management (CDM) regulations. The exclusive learning of risk assessment, effective communication, method statements, leadership and worker engagement, notice, registers, accident prevention, control and investigation. The training and induction are also part of this module.
Health and Welfare
